  7. Hello Computer Artists and Fans!  :-)

  10. My name is Dave Wickard. I am the administrator of the Imagine 
  11. Mailing List (IML). We are a group of computer artists both
  12. amateur and professional, who share an interest in the 3D rendering
  13. program "Imagine" from Impulse Inc.
  14.  
  15. Recently, we held a contest for all users of Imagine.
  16.  
  17. The file you have gotten along with this description, is one of the winners
  18. from that contest. 
  19.  
  20. This should give you an idea of the power of the program, as well as the
  21. creativity and imagination of some of the users.
  22.  
  23. All the 24bit images have been stored with JPEG compression to make them
  24. more universally viewable as well as preserving the highest possible
  25. quality with the image and keeping the sizes within manageable limits for
  26. FTP or downloading access. All of the HAM images, objects and the
  27. animation were left as submitted.
  28.  
  29. The images contained in this archive are the property of the individual
  30. artist, who has allowed this distribution of his work by the IML
  31. administrator. That means, the images may NOT be used in any commercial
  32. manner without permission being given by the artist himself.

  35. I also have talked to these artists, and can put you in touch with them
  36. if you have trouble with the listed info.

  38. This archive may be distributed intact...that is, you MUST include this
  39. text file with it and the images may not be manipulated in any way.

  48. 1st Prize- "Shoes" by Guido Rechsteiner of Bassersdorf Switzerland.
  49.                    Done with Imagine 1.1. Guido can be reached via

  51.                    (It's his friend Thomas Voirol's address).
  52.                    Guido chose THE IMAGINE BUDDY SYSTEM from HELP DISK INC.
  53.                    as his prize.

  55. 2nd Prize- "Apartment" by Thomas Voirol of Zurich Switzerland. This
  56.                    object was done using Imagine 2.0. Thomas reads 
  57.                    the IML via his Compuserve account 100114.2331@compuserve.com
  58.                    Thomas chose INTERCHANGE PLUS from SYNDESIS CORP.

  61. ANIMATION CATEGORY:

  63. 1st Prize- "BulbMash" by Stephen Mund of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
  64.                    Steve was the lone entry in the Animation Category.
  65.                    Steve says this is only his second animation ever.
  66.                    It was done in scanline mode. Steve can be reached
  67.                    at Uno-K@cup.portal.com. Steve chose the 
  68.                    IMAGINE 2.0 UPGRADE from IMPULSE INC. as his prize.

  71. HAM CATEGORY:

  73. 1st Prize- "Forest" by Michael Comet of Beachwood, Ohio. Michael's
  74.                    image was created using Imagine 2.0, Light24, and
  75.                    AdPro 1.0. Michael is a regular participant on
  76.                    the IML and is in charge of the IML-FAQ. 
  77.                    Michael can be reached via email at this

  79.                    HAM ENTRY grand prize, Michael chose the
  80.                    ESSENCE from APEX package.

  82. 2nd Prize- "Ice Cream" by Chris Hurtt of Boulder Colorado. Chris is also
  83.                    a regular contributor to the IML. He created this
  84.                    image using AdPro 2.0, DPaint IV, and Essence.

  86.                    For his prize as second place in the HAM CATEGORY, Chris
  87.                    chose the IMAGINE 2.0 UPGRADE from IMPULSE INC.

  93. 1st Prize- "3D STUDIO" by Chris Hurtt. For this piece of computer
  94.                    imagery, Chris utilized AdPro 2.0, DPaint IV, and a 
  95.                    brushmap from "Understanding Imagine 2.0". For his
  96.                    24 BIT ENTRY Grand Prize, Chris selected
  97.                    IMAGEMASTER from BLACKBELT SYSTEMS.

  99. 2nd Prize- "EYES"  by Guido Rechsteiner. This image was created entirely
  100. (Tie)              using Imagine 1.1. As his 2nd place entry prize, Guido
  101.                    chose PIXEL 3D PROFESSIONAL from AXIOM INC.
  102.  
  103. 2nd Prize- "Alien Vacation" by Michael Comet. This whimsical image was
  104.                    created by Michael using DPaint IV, Light24, AdPro 1.0.
  105.                    As his 2nd place entry prize, Michael chose
  106.                    MORPHUS from IMPULSE INC.
  107.  
  108. 3rd Prize- "Science Station" by Steve Langguth of Springfield Missouri.
  109.                    Steve is a Imagine user who heard about the Contest 
  110.                    via his account on GEnie. He also used Essence to 
  111.                    create his image. As his 3rd place prize, Steve chose
  112.                    MORPHUS from IMPULSE INC.

  114. 4th Prize- "EndGame" by John Humpal of Baltimore Maryland. John is a 
  115. (tie)              regular reader of the IML and contributes knowledge

  118.                    For his 4th place prize, John selected

  125.                    players. For his 4th place prize, Bill selected

  132.                    entry. For his 5th place entry, Randy happily chose
